The primary goal of the Unit of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance is to support the comprehensive development of students, both psychologically and academically, and empower them to achieve their full potential in a healthy and supportive learning environment.
• Providing psychological support: Offering individual and group psychological support and counseling to students to help them cope with the psychological and emotional challenges they may encounter during their academic and personal journey.
• Educational guidance: Providing academic and career guidance to students regarding their academic and professional choices, by offering information about different majors, study opportunities, and professional development.
• Enhancing positive communication: Promoting positive communication among members of the university community, whether between students, or between students and faculty members and administrative staff, aiming to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
• Prevention of psychological problems: Raising awareness among students about the importance of mental health and how to prevent psychological problems, such as stress, anxiety, and depression, and providing guidance on how to deal with them.
• Academic success support: Providing support and guidance to students to improve their academic performance and achieve success in their studies, by developing study skills, organization, and time management.
1. Establishing committees in the academic departments to appoint representatives of psychological counseling for different stages.
2. Holding meetings for counseling officials with students of each academic stage to discuss the problems they are facing, categorize these problems into academic, psychological, or social, and devise appropriate solutions for them.
3. Communicating with students, listening to their academic problems and the difficulties they encounter, and finding effective ways to solve them.
4. Clarifying the rights and responsibilities required of students and the importance of respecting the university campus, as well as the relationship between students, professors, peers, and college affiliates.
